Website Promotion for the Desperate

Posted on April 30, 2008 under Internet

A lot of people are curious on how to get more hits to their website and a lot of people have also given suggestions. However, I noticed that most, if not all, of the suggestions given usually take sometime before yielding results. As a result, a blog post for those who are desperate for hits.

  1. Write your site’s URL on every piece of cash you own. Remember, money travels quickly.
  2. Create a heavily-animated button and plug it in every single plugboard there is. Make sure you use bright colors so it would immediately catch the viewer’s eye.
  3. Offer a lot of unoriginal creative things for your visitors. PSDs, brushes, scans and Photoshop Actions should get you are a couple of the things you should have. Don’t forget unsafe PHP scripts too!Visitors would simply come running to your site!
  4. Join the weborexia phenomenon. I’m sure someone will link you up in no time!
  5. Join comment exchange communities such as Despair
and don’t bother commenting on your link assignments. What matters is that someone comments on you.
  6. Send an angry email to 1337 people stating that they’re hated by everyone else in the world because they think they’re so cool and that they own the interwebz. I would recommend Jem because more often than not, she’ll link you in her next blog post. Wouldn’t you like that? :D If you don’t like to mail Jem, consider someone from Snark. Remember, there’s an e-Drama board in there. ;)
  7. Sign a lot of tagboards and guestbooks. They’re always a good bet. ;)
  8. Get affiliated with a hundreds of people. Don’t even bother knowing them. Acquaintance is for dorks.
  9. Adore Swimchick and Outspoken Kate. Defend them to those who claim that their website is crap. If possible, befriend them too.
  10. Always remember: IE > everything.

P.S: This was inspired by Jem’s article about promoting one’s site (see, I followed step 10 :P ).

The 90’s: TV Shows

Posted on April 26, 2008 under Entertainment

This is the second (and perhaps the last) part of my blogging about thing I miss about the 90’s. The first part talks about the music of the 90’s and it lists the singers/bands of the 90’s that I miss. The same goes for this part except that I would be listing TV shows, not singers/bands.

  • Frasier – I watched a couple of episodes of Cheers online but Frasier is so much better for me (FYI, Frasier was a spin-off from Cheers)
  • Full House – I remember watching this TV show when I was young with my aunt. Back then, I already liked it. :)
  • Clarissa Explains It All – Before there was Lizzie McGuire, there was Clarissa. How I love this show!
  • Sabrina,The Teenage Witch – This is another TV show starring Melissa Joan Hart. I love the Sabrina-Harvey love team! ♥
  • Are You Afraid of the Dark? – Looking back now, I realize that it wasn’t that scary but if you’re a naive 3 year old guy, it’s enough to give you goosebumps.
  • Friends – Yes guys, I saved the best for last! I cannot put into words how much I love this series! Don’t you just all love the bunch? *sings* I’ll be there for yoooouuuu

What I Do Online

Posted on April 23, 2008 under Blabbings, Internet

My mom never stops bugging me whenever I am online. She keeps on asking me what I do while sitting in front of my computer for most of the day. Well mother, here’s the answer:

  1. I blog about random stuff.
  2. I visit and flood post on Snark
  3. I chat with my friends using Yahoo Messenger.
  4. I check out what’s the latest happenings with my friends using my Multiply account.
  5. I go lurk Amazon and look for stuff I would most likely buy someday.
  6. I play games down at Neopets. Yes, I still use my Neopets account.
  7. I check the latest happenings at American Idol.
  8. I go to YouTube and stream random stuff or sometimes, episodes of my favorite shows.
  9. I return comments and visit some other blogs along the way.

How about you? What do you do online?
