I Feel Useless
As I was going home today, I saw a Shih Tzu dog limping on the road. At first, I thought “Why is he limping?”, but then, I saw it; half of the poor dog’s body is furless and wounded.
Upon the sight of it, all I wanted to do was to make the driver stop the car and help the poor dog. Unfortunately, I can’t. First and for most, I am allergic to dogs (or almost anything with fur, actually). Second, the driver was such in a hurry that I couldn’t afford to make him stop and just check on how the dog was doing. So I just sat in the car quietly and kept it all to myself.
If only I could, I would’ve taken a picture of him and shared it with you guys. I’m sure you all would feel just as I did — pitiful and useless.
Pushing those things aside, I got my new lomographic camera today! I ended up getting a Holga 120GN. I am so in-love it.
Guess the Canon would have to wait until December.
Whoa you have a driver?!! I can’t be bothered to have one
Poor doggy :( I’ve had pets who were like that after a fight, but I can’t do anything about it since I puke whenever I see something unpleasing to the eye. And the worst part is that we don’t really have vets for dogs around here, plus my dogs aren’t licensed. They’re actually strays that we feed, fullstop.
Congrats on getting a camera
June 11th, 2008 at 10:15 pmAww, I would feel about the same. I hate seeing poor helpless animals get hurt. =[
June 11th, 2008 at 11:58 pmCongratulations on the lomo camera!
OMG, and that dog. Wow, you’ve made me feel sad about it… I have a pet dog, and so now I LOVE dogs. So hearing any bad stories about them makes me sooo sad, and bad for those dogs. =(
June 12th, 2008 at 12:23 amI would’ve thought the same if I were you - I love shih tzus too… they’re so furry and sweet.
June 12th, 2008 at 2:16 amThat’s so sad. :( I would have felt really useless too, especially if I couldn’t stop at all to do anything for it. :( Here’s hoping that the poor thing is ok…
Congrats on the camera.
June 12th, 2008 at 3:42 amExtremely sad D: I would’ve felt the same way. Poor little, tiny, little dog. I hope he’s okay. Someone must’ve stopped for him, right?
At least you cared
June 12th, 2008 at 7:18 am:( That’s so sad. But don’t feel so bad about it, you couldn’t have done anything about it anyway. Kudos to you for actually caring though, I bet others wouldn’t have felt the same as you did.
June 12th, 2008 at 9:54 amI’m sure a person of equal caring took care of the dog. Don’t get down on yourself; the fact that you thought warmly of the dog indicates a high level of caring
June 12th, 2008 at 11:27 amOh my god, that is horrible. I hate to see or hear about animals in pain. I can’t even imagine. What if a dog is sick. All they can do is lie there, lethargic. The only good part about being sick is that you get to watch a lot of television. Dogs can’t watch TV. They just have to lie there. Useless.
Now I’m sad.
CAMERA!
June 12th, 2008 at 4:43 pmI love taking pictures.
That camera sounds amazing, or at least what you said about it in your last blog.
Oh no :(
Poor dog :(
It must’ve been hard to not help it :(
But yay for the camera
June 13th, 2008 at 5:54 amJust reading your entry made me sad, and useless as well. I absolute love dogs (major dog lover here) and I can’t help but feel so sad for the poor dog you saw. I saw a Chihuahua wandering the streets last month and I took him home. I didn’t get to keep him, of course, but I did find a good home for him. He looked much better after he was well-fed and bathed.
June 14th, 2008 at 2:37 amAww poor dog. I would have felt the same way you did. :(
