I was browsing through my Dreamwidth (I kinda forgot I had one
) when I saw a post posted almost a year ago. It was entitled “TV Shows That I Plan on Watching”. Ten months later, here I am sitting in front of my laptop without an item crossed out from that list.
My summer calendar is fully booked. There are meetings to be attended, documents to be created and a constitution to be amended. However, in most of these days, I am with my friends since they most of them are also a part of the student council. So, my friends and I decided to go on a TV Marathon and Movie Marathon during those not-so-packed days.
We would just bring a DVD/a laptop/whatever to wherever we’re meeting at (usually in the school) and watch whatever we want to watch there. Who said meetings are draggy and boring?
Ten months later, that list has changed. No longer do I plan on watching Grey’s Anatomy and Ugly Betty. I have also lost interest in Harper’s Island and Weed. Here’s a new list of the TV shows I shall download sooner or later:
- One Tree Hill – I regret downloading all 6 seasons over the summer and deleting each one as I finished them. This time around I promise to download everything and save them for future rewatching.
- Skins – I have the first three series in my laptop and I’m halfway through the third. I can’t wait to watch series 4!
- Desperate Housewives – Will I ever get to follow this show?
- House – I have the first three seasons in DVD so I’ll just download the seasons after those.
This are the top priority ones. There are still some that I plan on watching, though need not be done as soon as possible. Let the TV downloading marathon begin!

…for movies. I don’t really know what to call these kinds of movies but they’re the one where teens, love, laughter, a bit of sex and nice music are involved.
I remember watching these kinds of movies when I was 12 or so. I was fascinated by what I saw. It was as if I was staring into a completely different world I couldn’t enter. By the end of the movie, I would have formed my own little fantasies based on the movie I just saw.
In time, I realized that this world did exist, and that everyone can enter it given the right time. I don’t need to fantasize about this world anymore — I was living in it. Nowadays, I watch these movie and no longer am I amazed. Instead, I feel the story. It’s as if I’m actually somewhere in the storyline and I feel whatsoever emotion the scene calls for.
If you guys are still confused as to what movies I’m talking about, I’ll give you some examples:
- Mean Girls – This movie is a classic. ‘Nuff said.
- Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist – I just watched this movie last night (I know, I know), and it was love. <3
Hmm…to be honest, those are the only movies that fall under that “genre” that I can think of at the moment.
So, what I’m really getting to is this: can you guys recommend me some movies like these? I’ve been really wanting to watch some lately. Thanks!

On my way home, Someday We’ll Know by The New Radicals played on my iPod and I can’t help but feel butterflies in my stomach and mushy deep down inside. I also managed to create a montage of my favorite A Walk to Remember scenes in my mind throughout the entire duration of the song. It made me remember how much I love love stories. (I haven’t actually been getting my prescribed dosage of love stories lately since I’ve been busy reading classics in the hopes of expanding my literature knowledge.) So here it is, the second part of my I’m A Sucker for Love Stories post:
- One Tree Hill – I really, really love this TV show because on top of all the drama, you can actually see a part of you (well, at least me) in each of the characters. Also, being a teenager, I can pretty much relate to the things going on with the gang at Tree Hill.
- Love Actually – I especially love the scene where Mark knocks outside Juliet’s door on Christmas holding cardboard signs saying the sweetest things a guy could possibly say.
- Gossip Girl – I’m in love with Chuck/Blair. ‘Nuff said.
- P.S. I Love You -I haven’t read the book yet, but the movie really sent me to tears so I might read the book soon too.
Recommend me some more love stories?
